Good to see the sun out again this morning.
Ten days on and the chicks are losing their fluff and now have proper feathers.
The last chick finally hatched.
It's been a very busy Easter holiday but the Calfshed now has lights and a kitchen and is ready to be furnished.

Spring term ends with a children's Easter service at the village church and the churchyard is worth a quiet wander at this time of year. There are some delightful architectural features, swathes of wildflowers and blossoming trees.
Another frost this morning, we might have to keep the fires lit for a little bit longer.
The frosts have gone and on Friday the grass was cut for the first time. Today the pruning of the fruit trees is being finished off before it gets too warm.
There is still a nip in the air, and we are still wearing coats, but it's great to be eating outside again at Sandleigh.
The Calfshed is in the final stages, bathrooms are in and we are starting to fit out the bedrooms and living areas. We are keeping it simple with natural materials, a grey palette and lots of texture.

We were given these ducks by our neighbours last year, they are not nearly as friendly as our chickens but they are the loveliest things to watch.
