The sun came out on Saturday so we hit the beach for sausage sandwiches and a play in the sand. Crow Point sits at the end of Saunton Sands and can be reached by car heading out of Braunton to Velator.
We set off from Ilfracombe in the morning for a 12 mile walk along the coastal path taking in all of our favourite places; Ilfracombe Tunnels, Lee Bay, Bull Point, Morthoe, Barricane, Woolacombe and Putsborough beaches and finally Baggy Point. We arrived mid afternoon in Croyde in time for tea at Sandleigh.
Sri Lankan curry on the beach from 6pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights in the holidays. Take a rug and something to drink and watch the sunset.
A quick drive from Squires Fish and Chips to Putsborough Beach to make the most of a brief sunny interlude. Hard to believe there are gales forecast tomorrow.
The clocks go forward tonight and it already feels like summer is here. After the heavy frost at the start of the week it has come as a surprise to be spending the afternoon on Putsborough.
We managed to catch a glimpse of the snow in London and came back to sunshine here. It looked quite pleasant from the car park at Putsborough but it was a bitterly cold walk.
The drive to Heddon's Mouth is a treat in itself with stunning views over Exmoor and mossy tree-lined lanes taking you to Hunter's Inn where we started our walk. A path along the river leads through a steep wooded valley to a spectacular pebble beach where you can rest and explore before heading back for hot chocolate at the Inn.
